This was our visit to the BIEMH

Stand de Izadi IZDIT en BIEMH22

The 31st edition of the Biennial is translated, for Izadi, in 5 very intense days in which we gave -in our stand- different talks related to Advanced Manufacturing. In addition, it was an opportunity to present -to the general public- our new developments in Laser Cladding & Hardening and our IZDIT gear unit. .

There was a great desire, a great desire for the Biennial to reopen its doors. Not only because this fair is held every 2 years, but because this edition has been waiting a little longer: it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic and, in fact, 4 years have passed since the last edition. And, in these four years, a lot of things have happened…

What have these last four years meant for us? Well, in Izadi, they have resulted in a new Strategic Plan with which we are managing to evolve by leaps and bounds:

  • Machining development: We have gone from being a machining workshop to become a business group in which other highly specialized companies have joined, such as Albicein (large machining) and Denatek (engineering and high precision manufacturing). We want to provide solutions to all our customers’ needs.
  • Team: We have gone from having a team of almost 30 people to practically doubling our staff (our team now numbers around 65 people), while maintaining our company culture of effort and customer service vocation. And, if everything goes according to plan, this figure will continue to increase until the end of the year.
  • Innovation: We have launched our additive manufacturing solution using our Laser Cladding and Hardening Cell for high volume (up to 15 kg/hour) metallic coatings and additives and improved mechanical characteristics at source using LMD and Laser Hardening.
  • Product and diversification: we have also diversified our business lines while maintaining our high level of specialization, and developed a new product, IZDIT. IZDIT (design, manufacture, testing, assembly and maintenance of gearboxes) has been our great novelty at the Biennial, where we have presented this advanced solution for power transmission in gearboxes, distributors and multipliers in collaboration with our partner Aingura IIoT. With this solution we seek to improve the operational efficiency of our industrial customers.

Why is Izadi Group exhibiting at BIEMH22?

We wanted to go a step further in our communication and branding strategy, betting on participating in one of the most relevant events in the industrial sector” – our CEO, Beltrán Ybarra, told us a few days ago – “Thanks to the collaboration with Talens and Aingura IIoT, we have redoubled our commitment to innovation, allowing us to be at the forefront of machining technologies, manufacturing through additive manufacturing (cladding) and the construction of gearboxes for the industrial sector”.

Every day, we have been talking about IZDIT, our new power transmission solution for the industrial sector, with which we are able to design, manufacture and maintain industrial gearboxes in a predictive way, thanks to Machine Learning and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

In addition, we have had guests – both from our partners and from “in-house” – who have spoken to us about: Laser Cladding (laser additive manufacturing); Laser Hardening (laser thermal hardening); how to predict the service life of gears and bearings in industrial gearboxes; as well as advanced manufacturing using CAD/CAM.

We would like to thank Igor Ortiz (from Ikergune), Ibai Sánchez (from Talens Systems); Marcela Rondón, Javier Díaz Rozo and Rafael Ibeas (from Aingura IIoT) and Diego Piñeiro (from Denatek) for being our speakers and taking the stage at our booth.

We cannot forget to thank AFM and the Basque Government (presided by Iñigo Urkullu) for visiting our stand and for wanting to get to know us better. We were proud to be able to present what we do, how we are different and how we can do our bit to ensure that our region continues to be at the forefront of innovation in Spain.

BIEMH31, in figures

According to the organization, 35,000 visitors from a total of 52 countries attended this 31st edition. There were also 1,400 exhibiting companies (from 28 different countries), and 3,400 machines, products, services and innovations were exhibited. In addition, 300 major buyers were invited to the fair.

Which sectors have seen the most interest? Those of process and manufacturing automation, machine tool accessories, tooling, machine tool components, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, machine tool removal, part and tool handling and digitization.

In addition to the BIEMH, other parallel fairs also related to Industry 4.0 have been held at the BEC, such as Addit3d (focused on additive manufacturing and 3D), BeDigital (Digital Transformation applied to Industry), the IMIC congress (Industrial Maintenance Innovation Conference), and WORKinn Talent Hub (employment forum in the Industrial sector).

After 5 very intense days, BIEMH2022 has come to an end… and we are very proud to have participated in this edition, the reunion edition. It has been a long time coming, yes, but it has been worth it. We hope you enjoyed this fair as much as we did, and that we will see you again in the next edition!
