The LASTER project seeks to boost the industrial competitiveness of the Basque Country through laser manufacturing technologies and their digitalization.
These technologies are oriented to key sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, railway and steel, fostering economic growth, skilled job creation and sustainability. LASTER focuses on the development of 4 laser technologies: EHLA (extreme high-speed laser), laser blanking, laser welding and component recovery. Digitalization is key, as it will enable more efficient and environmentally friendly data-driven decision making, improving traceability and stability of production processes.
This will involve the definition of specifications, the design of appropriate control and monitoring systems, manufacturing process optimization strategies, the development of prototypes to validate the above-mentioned points, as well as the evaluation of the integrated solution. LASTER proposes to integrate advanced control systems to improve precision and dynamism, enabling the manufacture of high value-added components and reducing polluting emissions. With these innovations, the project aims to position Basque companies as benchmarks in Industry 4.0, supporting the transition towards a more efficient, robust and sustainable industry.
